E.g. UK mains voltage of 230V AC is 230V RMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Peek AC Voltage<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Calculating the peek voltage of an AC RMS voltage: VAC * sqrt (2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Example: 230 V AC RMS  * sqrt (2) = 325 V peek<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Example: 1500 V AC RMS  * sqrt (2) = 2121 V peek <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Testing insulation with AC or DC voltage<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Insulation breakdown tests<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Where insulation breakdown is concerned you are always interested in the maximum voltage possible.
