Our client needed a low cost fast way to roll out a bank of GSM devices capable of receiving phone calls and SMS messages and replying with customised SMS messages, for a large-scale marketing campaign.
We selected an off-the-shelf Arduino GSM-based module and designed a bespoke motherboard incorporating power distribution, activity detection and per-module hard reset capability.
We also designed and hosted a complete cloud-based solution for the handling of received calls and text messages, with customizable responses based on the callers’ telephone numbers and history of contact across all of the GSM module numbers. The GSM modules TCP/IP capability was utilised to prove connectivity to the cloud-based API.
